Cet athlète sponsorisé par Eramet via la Setrag a pris part aux 12è Jeux africains de Plage qui se sont ouverts le 23 juin 2023 à Hammamet en Tunisie.
La participation à cette compétition du champion Gabonais a été rendu possible grâce au Comité Olympique Gabonais qui représentait notre pays. Notre athlète s'est inscrit au marathon de plage. Son entrée en compétition a eu lieu ce 27 juin 2023 où il a parcouru 10k mètres et a réalisé un chrono honorable de 31minutes 57secondes 37t, le quel la propulsé à la 12 sur 100 athlètes ayant pris part à la compétition. Un classement qui fait de lui le premier en Afrique Centrale. Cette performance de Djessy Mouelé Kodo intervient après sa brillante prestation au Marathon de Port-Gentil organisé par Perenco où il a remporté les 10k mètres de l’épreuve.
Les Jeux Africains de Plage de Hammamet en Tunisie ont regroupé 53 des 54 pays de l’Association des Comités Nationaux Olympiques d’Afrique sen abrégé ACNOA et a connu la participation de 1100 sportifs en gagés sur 30 épreuves masculines et féminines étalées dans16 disciplines.
La délégation Gabonaise tait conduite par Samuel Minko, premier vice-président et José Waltr Foula, secrétaire général du Comité National Olympique Gabonais, lesquel, ont en marge des jeux, pris part le 22 juin denier, à la 21è session ordinaire de l’Assemblée générale de l’ACNOA.
