Plus d'un siècle après la disparition d'un de ses plus redoutables guerriers, le Gabon va bientôt abriter les activités culturelles en hommage à Mbombet-A-Gnangué. Un devoir de mémoire pour cet illustre disparu dont l'histoire semble reléguée aux oubliettes.

Ils ne sont pas nombreux à avoir combattu contre le pouvoir colonial et l'ensemble des exactions faites aux peuples autochtones. Pour s'être farouchement opposé, plusieurs guerriers ont été tués, souvent dans des conditions atroces. C'est le cas du guerrier Tsogo Mbombet-A-Gnangué mort dans les années 1913 après 10 ans de combat à la tête de plusieurs troupes dans les provinces de la Ngounié et de la Nyanga au sud du Gabon.
Pour un devoir de mémoire, plusieurs compatriotes ont décidé de l’organisation d’un grand festival. Exposition photographique, contes sur les épopés du guerrier, récit historique, visites des lieux…le comité d’organisation met tout en œuvre pour que ce premier festival soit à la hauteur de la dimension du guerrier. Toutes les sensibilités culturelles du Gabon, de l'Afrique et des autres régions du monde sont attendues.
Mouila, la capitale provinciale de la Ngounié et le village Ekembélé situé dans le département de l'Ogoulou sont les deux sites retenues pour abriter les différentes cérémonies. Compte tenu de la crise sanitaire, aucune date de l’organisation du festival n'est pour le moment arrêtée.
